A patriotic twist on the classic featuring dried fruit and white chocolate-- use blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and/or cherries for a berry version fit for any American celebration!
1 and 1/2cupsdried and/or freeze-dried red and blue fruit*roughly chopped and divided
2ounceswhite chocolate
Instructions
Spray a 7x11" baking dish with non-stick spray. Set aside.
In a large saucepan, melt butter and marshmallows, stirring constantly until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies cereal and 1 cup of the dried fruit and stir until well-coated.
Using a spatula sprayed with non-stick spray, gently press mixture into baking pan. Sprinkle with remaining dried fruit and press gently into the top of the cereal mixture.
In a microwave safe bowl, melt the white chocolate in the microwave in 15 second increments on HIGH, stirring after each session until completely smooth.
Pour melted chocolate into a large plastic bag with the corner snipped off, a decorating bottle, or a piping bag fitted with a small decorating tip. Drizzle the white chocolate onto the dish of cooling treats. Allow chocolate to set before cutting into squares and serving. Store treats in an airtight container up to one week.
Notes
*I used freeze dried strawberries and sweetened dried strawberries and blueberries. Feel free to use other red fruit such as raspberries, cherries, or cranberries.
