I just made these! Could not find pumpkin spice so I used chai spice and 2 tsps of pumpkin pie filling. I also used becel plant based butter to save money. They taste like an excellent salty sweet pumpkin spiced cookie. Thank you for this recipe!

Hi, Laura-- this isn't a frosting, it's an icing. So it's meant to be super thin. I'm glad you enjoyed the cookies!

How long should it take for the icing to set up?
The cookies are still tacky a half hour later. Is there anything I can do other that putting them in
the refrigerator, freezer, or give them more time?
They are good.

Hi, Kara-- you can! I would let the dough come back to room temperature or close to it before rolling it out otherwise it might be too hard to roll. Enjoy!

I tried these with shapes and, although delicious, they spread horribly for me. I tried freezing for 10 after cutting ans lowered the temp to 375. That made them spread a little less, but still spread. Not sure what I did wrong. But, super delicious!
