Thank you so much, Sharla! A very cold kitchen can be really tricky for yeast bread, so unless your yeast just wasn't active enough, my guess is that's what it was. Regardless, I'm so glad you enjoyed them!

Really enjoy getting these emails, and I’ve had my eye on this recipe for some time! Mine weren’t as fluffy, as I’d have liked. For some reason, they just were SO slow to rise, no matter all my useful successful tricks. I chalk it up to the cold temps? The flavors were perfectly paired, and these make really pretty rolls. LOVE the fresh orange juice and zest with the spices. Simply delightful and delicious! I esp like that it makes a small batch.

Thanks for catching that, Mary! The direction didn't mention the sugar, but it was "associated" with the step which made it confusing. It is now "associated" with the correct step. Enjoy!

I might not be reading the recipe right, but it says to add sugar with the yeast step, then again with the milk. I imagine you only add 2.5T of sugar once, right?
I appreciate your small batch recipe for these yummy looking rolls
