another win. I was intrigued by this one and figured what the heck, try it with all the other Christmas cookies I was making and if they failed at least i would have 234098 others to choose from- i was met with a lot of hmmm, idk if i want to try this glances, but they were a hit! I think with all the rich decadent holiday desserts it was a pleasant surprise. I rolled my log a little smaller in diameter so they would be slightly smaller cookies, which tweaked my cook time but they are really good! The white chocolate drizzle is a must, they are not AS good without. Take the extra 3 minutes to do this, it is worth it- and they look cute! im tempted to dunk half in next time vs the drizzle, but will make again either way. Thank you Lynn for sharing with us!

In reply to T. Yes, please report back! I would also make sure you're using the middle of the oven. Reshaping the cookies hot from the oven is also key in containing any spreading edges. Please report back!

Hi, T– that’s really interesting. Did you use parchment paper and not a silicone baking mat? I always use Indian Head yellow cornmeal, but I’m not sure that they’re labeled any type of grind or texture. My only other guess is that your oven might be too hot– do you have an oven thermometer to insure it isn’t too hot?

I attempted to make these with high hopes. They completely melted (even after chilling over night) and the corn meal is quite gritty.

Two. questions (cause I’m still hopeful).
1. Why would they completely melt even after chilling over night?
2. Should the cornmeal be a certain grind?

In reply to Jon. Hi, Jon. You've stumbled on a very old recipe that has not yet gotten my attention from when I updated my recipe format a couple years ago, but I went ahead and updated it. I am always going through a list of updates to make, and this one did not make the top of the list because it's not a very popular recipe. It's always important to read through a recipe before starting it, so you did that correctly. Now you know how much time to make available when you go to make these cookies :)

There is a minimum of 4 hours of refridgerator time in the recipe “Chill in the refrigerator at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.” how in the world would you not include this in the prep time ? It doesn’t say anything about skiping this step if you choose !

I definitely love the food, but I also enjoy spending time with long distance friends and family, decorating, wrapping gifts, driving around my little town looking at all the Christmas lights, binge watching my favorite holiday movies, etc.
