Hi, Marcia-- the crust is buttery, yes, but I&#039;m not sure mine has ever had pools of butter. I do know that some brands of gingersnaps are more buttery than others and that can lead to excess butter, but it will solidify again once the tart cools.]]></description>

I have celiac disease and the only modification needed is using gluten free ginger snaps, which are just as good as the regular ones. I wish I could add a picture, because it is so beautiful on the table.]]></description>
