I guess I wonder what the definition of a classic cookie is? I started baking around 1970, age 11, using grandma's recipes. Nothing called for butter, a few called for oleo, cookies and brownies all called for vegetable shortening. I still use those classic recipes because that's what I grew up eating, and it's what I prefer. As a young wife, I tried the Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies on the back of the bag (still a thing?), and they were so greasy. lol I swore never again would I use butter..

These snickerdoodles are melt in your mouth good!! They are soft and chewy and delicious! Definitely close to second place for me, my number 1 is FAF Classic Chocolate Chip cookies!
