I cannot wait to make these pinwheel cookies again for Christmas this year! As a (very amateur) baker, I normally go for the “if it tastes good, we’re successful” aesthetic. I truly felt like these cookies, for the first time for me, made me feel like I can make visually appealing and equally delicious cookies!! Thank you, Lynn, for making something that feels a bit unorthodox (rolling logs, for example) MUCH less intimidating and downright accomplishable! Oh, and sidebar, the cinnamon is just exquisite in these cookies!! (insert drool emoji here)

That was a typo– thanks for pointing it out! You’ll roll the 12″ side to make a 12″ log.

I plan on making this pinwheel cookie. In fact all the ingredients are measured out.
My question is not sure if you roll from the 12 inch side how do you get a 9 inch roll?
When I make cinnamon rolls I always roll from the long side.

Cinnamon goodness + Sugar Cookie = heaven in your mouth!!! This is a must bake cookie!
Like most I started baking much more for FUN in 2020. Lynn’s recipes and blog posts make it SO easy for people like me (reluctant baker) to actually bake great things. This recipe would have been intimidating for me to make if not for all of Lynn’s tips and tricks. Not only did they turn out delicious but I was able to easily make them with one resolved hiccup due to my doubling the recipe.
