Hi, JM-- this is a denser cake as it has lots of texture in it with the flax. But thanks for giving it a try and sharing your feedback :)

This was a pretty dense cake. I might have also overbaked it a tad. My partner liked it fine but I might mess with it a bit to fit our tastes a little more. It’s definitely a warm and spice-filled cake. Not too sweet!

Hi, Karen! This will make about 12 cupcakes, and I'd aim for about 12-15 minutes for the cupcakes, though this is just a guess! Let me know if you try it :)

Hello! I love this recipe - so much that I’d love it in cupcake form, too. Has anyone tried this, and if so, can you estimate the yield and baking time? Thank you!

In reply to <a href="https://freshaprilflours.com/chai-cake/comment-page-2/#comment-79494">Sadat</a>.

Hi, Sadat-- I'd try using 1.5 tablespoons ground cinnamon, 0.5 Tablespoons each ground cardamom and ginger, 2 teaspoons each ground allspice, cloves, nutmeg. This should give you about 1 ounce of spices which is the equivalent of 1 ounce of a tea bag. I'm putting it on the record that I have not tried this, but this would be my suggestion!

I made it :)
I made this cake for a small Indian gathering. Every one loved it.
I also was not sure about the flax meal amount like someone mentioned, 3/4 cup is not weighing to 112grams even if I press it like brown sugar. I went with 112 grams weight.
one things I noticed and I was bit concerned, when I poured my Tea milk, which was at room temp, the egg and butter mixer curdled up and would not become smooth, I went ahead and mixed my dried ingredients anyway, worked out okay. Also my cake had a good size crack but it got covered with the frosting :)
we Indian use Tea masala which is blend of Cinnamon, cloves, Cardamom, nutmeg, black pepper etc...
will make it again, thanks.
Wanted to post some pics here but don't see I can.
